Energy storage is gaining importance in green energy power systems as a means of compensating for the inherent inconsistencies of renewable sources. Woodward provides complete bi-directional converter systems for energy storage, whether it is based on super capacitors for short-term power quality correction or battery-based systems for bulk energy storage.
Woodward offers a line of high efficiency liquid-cooled central inverters ranging from 100 kW to 1000 kW. With many successful grid-tied installations, Woodward technologies are trustworthy for some of the most challenging, remote applications and in areas with a weak electric grid. SOLO inverters have demonstrated high efficiency and reliability under demanding conditions.
To minimize power loss during the conversion process, the SOLO inverter’s switching technology uses IGBTs. The inverters are available with up to three MPPT (maximum power point tracker) inputs to optimize the energy yield. Woodward technology is easy to install and operate and is fully parameterized prior to delivery.
